I want a running list of books I have read. I was going to try to remember and create a total list to post here, but methinks that is a tiny bit too hard. so i am going to start to day and make a running list starting on Monday, March 23, 2009--- i will post only books I have completed and hopefully put the date on which i finished it.
Matilda Bone by Karen Cushman--finished 3/23/09
great kids book about a bonesetter's apprentice. Unveils much about medicine and theology
in the middle ages--historical fiction.
The 100th Thing about Caroline by Lois Lowery- finished March 25,2009
Surviving the Applewhites by Tolan --finished 3/26/09
The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare--reread---finished 3/30/09
SAPDATE: oops! forgot about this goal, which is kinda sad b/c I have been reading a ton lately. Maybe a paper list on my night table will help me keep a tally of what has been read. I am trying not to buy any new book and just read the whole case of books I have had forever but have never read. Unfortunately, I have little desire to read many of these books. I am kind of doing this as an experiment. The reason I have all these books is b/c someone else told me they would be good for me (they are mostly "classics") Now, the majority of my students feel this way about all reading. I am trying to put myself in their shoes and see what effect motivation has on comprehension. In other words, Can I enjoy something I know I am not going to enjoy?
