sleep study= torture

i have dreamt of this sleep study. it was kinda sorta explained to me by my doctor before I came in. however, i guess I never realized how tedious it would be. or how little sleep i would get.
i got here at 9 pm on Monday April 6th. it took them a while to get me at the door. then, i was given my room (much nicer than the room I saw when I did the tour). I was told to change into my sleep things and get ready for bed. Now, I was told I could not nap of have caffeine all day, so I was MORE than ready for my deep, deep slumber...

I knew they would have to hook me up with wires to monitor me. I imagined like 6 probes all like EKG probes. Little round stickers. no no no-- i have 9 on my head, 6 on my face, one on my neck, 2 on my chest. 2 on my legs, a chest belt and a belly belt and 2 tubes up my nose. and only the EKG probes are like the little round stickers, but everything else is like the suction cups used on the machine in the _Princess Bride_. only smaller.....and i am still alive. though I feel mostly dead.

so all of this stuff is pasted to me and then taped to me to ensure maximum effectiveness. oh, and there is a heart monitor on my finger. it glows red. ET phone home.

oh-- reliving the torture is not helping. i blog again when i recover from this. I cannot wait to get on the road to hilton head!
